Aaaaaahhhhh!!!

Quick, I'm getting a coldsore. Ok, let's just call it what it is ... herpes!! Ewwwww, I have herpes!! I can feel the tingling of the monster just starting to rear it's ugly head. Any good remedies out there (other than putting perfume on it)? Do tell.

Ok, if there were any potential suitors out there, I just lost 'em all. :( Oh well. Hey, if he doesn't love me, herpes and all, I don't want him .... right?

I'm sorry I cannot help you at all. I've never suffered from them. I used to work with a girl who would dab Oscar De La Renta on her cold sores...that's all I know.

too funny...sorry, not the herpes... I was just going to leave the same comment Rachel left, we had the same co-worker! I can almost smell the Oscar De La Renta as I type :)

Lysine is an amino acid that helps get rid of herpes simplex. Ask for it at a health food store. Stay away from foods rich in arganine.

I use the product COLDSOREX. It works fast + effective. It stings a little at first and then it numbs it and dries it up.

Thanks to everyone for their advice (even those who are blogstalkers and scared to leave a comment but told me in person). I ended up just doing the perfume thing again which I have done countless times before but has never seemed to help. Well, it stayed under control and hasn't ballooned up too big, so I'm happy. Although, on Saturday after I put the perfume on I went for a run and almost gagged the entire time because although I like the smell of my perfume, it's usually not that close to my nose and can be a little overwhelming, especially when trying to exercise. Oh well, I made it through another bought of herpes (which apparently was TMI for some people). Sorry! :P

I just read this, sorry , its obviously already healed up. I bought some abreva and I put it on with the very first tingle. I even take it on holidays, and it works like a charm.
